Chuwi UniBook launches as affordable Intel Wildcat Lake laptop

The Chuwi UniBook is a 14-inch budget laptop built on Intel's Wildcat Lake platform, featuring the Core 3 304 processor. Positioned as an affordable alternative to premium devices like the MacBook Neo, it is priced between approximately $450 and $500.

Key features include an anodized aluminum chassis, a 16:10 IPS matte display, a backlit keyboard, and a wide array of ports including Gigabit Ethernet and five USB ports. The device offers strong single-core performance for its price bracket and boasts long battery life, potentially lasting up to two working days.

However, the laptop has several notable limitations. It is equipped with 8GB of soldered RAM that cannot be upgraded, which may impact Windows 11 performance. While the SSD is replaceable, the display color accuracy is reportedly lower than advertised, covering only about 60% of the sRGB space. Other drawbacks include a low-quality webcam, mediocre speakers, and a relatively slow CPU/iGPU combination.
