CHVRCHES announces return with new single ‘Roses’

CHVRCHES Roses synth-pop new single fifth album

The synth-pop trio CHVRCHES has announced their return with a new single titled ‘Roses’. The track marks the beginning of sessions for the band’s fifth studio album, following a five-year hiatus since their last release.

Lead singer Lauren Mayberry described the new material as a departure from their previous work, aiming to challenge the band’s established sound rather than repeating it. The song, which debuted as the ‘Hottest Record’ on BBC Radio 1, features a darker, more caustic tone and incorporates social commentary. Mayberry noted that the group feels the new direction represents their most coherent vision as a band to date.
