CIA Director warns Moscow against attacking NATO members

CIA Director John Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow to warn Vladimir Putin against attacking any NATO member states. The visit follows intelligence concerns regarding increased Russian hybrid attacks against Western interests, including suspected involvement in explosions at weapons factories in Italy and Bulgaria, a plot against a German arms official, and a failed drone attack on a cargo plane in Leipzig.

Security officials are particularly concerned about the Baltic states—Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania—which are considered highly vulnerable due to their borders with Russia and limited capacity for deep defense. In Estonia, tensions have risen in the border city of Narva, where social media accounts have begun calling for a ‘Narva People’s Republic.’

Baltic security sources have expressed a need to remain ‘calm but vigilant’ as they face potential escalatory actions. This follows previous US warnings to Poland regarding possible incursions.
