CIA ordered to release January 6 records by federal judge

A federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has ordered the CIA to begin releasing records related to the events of January 6, 2021. The agency must comply with the order by November 16.

The documents requested include information regarding shots fired inside the Capitol, requests for bomb technicians and detection dogs, and details concerning whether CIA personnel were deployed during the incident. This ruling follows a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by the legal watchdog group Judicial Watch.
