Brazil cultural initiatives feature theatre and free community workshops

Various cultural initiatives and theatrical performances are taking place across Brazil. In Salvador, Cia Suburbando de Teatro is presenting “Mwana Erê” at the Centro Cultural Plataforma on Sundays in September. The production addresses themes of structural racism, violence, and the rights of Black children and adolescents through a mix of music, dance, and theater.

In Fortaleza, the “Mariquinha Maricota” project, supported by the Fortaleza Arts Call, offers free workshops led by Luciano Lopes. These sessions focus on storytelling techniques and puppet making to foster artistic development and pedagogical skills. Additionally, the Espaço Mais Infância in Praça Luiza Távora, a partnership between Sesc Ceará and the State Government, provides free activities for children up to 12 years old throughout September, including literature, music, and recreational games.
