Cibona dismisses coach Ivan Rudež following poor start

Basketball club Cibona has decided to terminate its cooperation with head coach Ivan Rudež. The decision follows a difficult start to the season, including a 0-3 record in the regional league and losses in the FIBA Champions League against Legia Warsaw.

Sporting director Marin Rozić expressed gratitude for Rudež’s contributions, noting that the coach led the team to an unexpected Croatian championship title last season. Rozić stated that while the decision was difficult, it was deemed the best course of action for both parties to correct the current season's trajectory.

Assistant coaches Neven Nikolić and Andrej Štimac will lead the first team temporarily. They are expected to manage the squad for the upcoming ABA League game against Krka.
