CicLAvia to close 6.5 miles of Los Angeles streets for open-streets event
CicLAvia will host its 68th open-streets event, titled ‘CicLAvia — Heart of LA’, this Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event marks the 16th anniversary of the nonprofit organization.
A 6.5-mile stretch of streets will be closed to motor vehicles, connecting several historic Los Angeles neighborhoods including Echo Park, downtown Los Angeles, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, the Arts District, and Boyle Heights. The route is designed to facilitate walking, jogging, biking, skating, and other forms of people-powered transportation.
Four hubs will be established along the route at Echo Park, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and Mariachi Plaza. These hubs will serve as walking zones and provide amenities such as restrooms, water-refilling stations, basic bicycle repair, bicycle parking, first aid, and free pedicab rides. The event is free and open to the public.
