Cicpc inspector Dagoberto Díaz dies in vehicle rollover in Falcón

Dagoberto José Díaz, a 43-year-old deputy inspector for the Cuerpo de Investigaciones Científicas, Penales y Criminalísticas (Cicpc), died Sunday afternoon following a vehicle rollover in Falcón state, Venezuela.

Díaz, who had nearly 19 years of service and was serving as an instructor for the Universidad Nacional Experimental de la Seguridad (UNES), was traveling in a Chevrolet Blazer in the Guzmán Guillermo parish. Preliminary reports indicate the vehicle suffered brake failure while descending a steep slope, causing the driver to lose control at a curve.

Díaz was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene due to severe traumatic brain injury. A 28-year-old female passenger, identified as María José Pineda, survived the crash with multiple injuries and was transported to the Hospital Doctor Alfredo Van Grieken in Coro for medical treatment.
