Cicpc warns of viral ‘48-hour challenge’ among youth
The Venezuelan investigative police body, Cicpc, has issued a warning regarding a viral social media trend known as the ‘48-hour challenge’. This trend involves children and adolescents voluntarily leaving their homes and cutting off all communication for two days.
According to Mercy Bracho, the general secretary of Cicpc, the purpose of the challenge is to gain social media attention and trigger alarm among family members, communities, and security agencies. Authorities warned that the practice exposes young people to critical vulnerabilities, including the risk of accidents, crimes, or becoming genuinely lost. The agency urged citizens to limit prolonged cell phone use, stating that ‘a like is not worth more than their integrity’.
