CIDSCON 2026 conference in Gujarat focuses on infectious diseases and AI

The 16th annual conference of the Clinical Infectious Diseases Society (CIDSCON 2026) is being held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from August 20 to 23. The event brings together over 950 delegates, including infectious disease specialists, clinicians, researchers, and microbiologists from India and abroad.

Key themes of the conference include antimicrobial resistance (AMR), infection control, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in clinical practice. A dedicated workshop will explore AI applications beyond large language models, examining how technology can support clinical decision-making alongside human judgment.

The scientific program covers a wide range of topics, such as tuberculosis, HIV, tropical infections, fungal diseases, and virology. Health Minister Prafull Pansheriya is scheduled to inaugurate the conference and unveil a book focused on antimicrobial resistance and stewardship.
