Ciechanów County hit by severe storm, triggering military and financial aid
A severe storm hit the Mazowieckie Voivodeship in Poland during the night of August 10-11, causing significant damage in Ciechanów County. The municipality of Regimin was particularly hard hit, with over 30 residential buildings damaged. Emergency services, including the State Fire Service and Volunteer Fire Departments, responded to 137 interventions in the county.
To assist with recovery, soldiers from the Territorial Defence Forces have been deployed to help clear fallen trees and secure damaged structures. In response to the disaster, the Ciechanów County Council unanimously approved 190,000 PLN in emergency funding to support the most affected areas. This includes 80,000 PLN each for the municipalities of Regimin and Opinogóra Górna, and 30,000 PLN for Gołymin-Ośrodek. The funds are intended to accelerate debris removal and restore local infrastructure.
