Ciechanów wetland housing project blocked by court ruling

The Local Government Appeal Office (SKO) in Płock has overturned an environmental decision issued by the president of Ciechanów regarding a residential investment project on the Krubin wetlands. The decision concerned the construction of ten apartment blocks on Miła Street, a project intended to be carried out by the Social Housing Initiative North Mazovia (SIM).

SKO ruled that the original decision was characterized by “discretion and arbitrariness.” The office noted that the investor's application failed to meet environmental law requirements and lacked several necessary documents. Furthermore, inspectors pointed out that due to the scale of the project, the environmental impact would likely extend beyond the immediate site to neighboring properties.
