Ciechocinek and Mietków receive EU funds for park revamp and road upgrade
The municipality of Ciechocinek in Poland secured almost 25 million zł from the EU Regional Fund for the Kujawy and Pomerania program (2021‑2027). Mayor Jarosław Jucewicz signed the agreements in Toruń, with the largest portion – 23 866 080 zł – earmarked for the third and final stage of the Spa Park revitalisation, part of a total investment of 28 128 470,60 zł. An additional 597 818 zł will support works on the Tężniowy Park, aiming to restore historic greenery and improve public spaces.
In the neighboring gmina of Mietków, local authorities obtained 2,3 million zł of external funding to overhaul School Street in Stróża. The project will replace a gravel road with asphalt, upgrade the area in front of the village community centre and improve access near the cemetery and church. Officials, including deputy voivode Artur Jurkowski and council representative Tomasz Sakuta, highlighted the benefits for safety and quality of life, while some residents expressed reservations about changing the road’s character.
