Cienfuegos to host tourism investment forum

The city of Cienfuegos will host the ‘La Perla del Sur’ Business Forum on October 9 and 10. The event aims to promote tourism investments and identify new business opportunities involving the non-state sector and Cubans living abroad.

Nearly one hundred participants, including entrepreneurs and diplomats from eight nations, are expected to attend. The forum is part of a broader strategy to integrate tourism into Cuba’s current economic and social transformations. Yuneidis Pérez López, a sub-delegate for the Ministry of Tourism in Cienfuegos, stated that investors will be presented with six projects under the mixed-enterprise model and two projects for hotel marketing and administration. Specific sites mentioned include the Rancho Luna-Faro Luna hotel complex and the Guajimico villa.

The two-day program will include business presentations, networking rounds, and tours of local points of interest. Business opportunities from entities such as Gran Caribe, Islazul, Palmares, and Cuban Medical Services will also be showcased. Cienfuegos seeks to leverage its historical, natural, and cultural assets, including its historic center which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2005.
