CIFA Trapani urges families to utilize welfare tools amid rising cost of living
The provincial section of CIFA Trapani has issued an appeal to residents in the Trapani province to better utilize available welfare measures and social bonuses to mitigate the impact of the rising cost of living. The association highlights that rising prices for essential goods, utilities, fuel, and services are placing significant pressure on household budgets.
Data provided by CIFA indicates that the Trapani province consists of approximately 186,000 families with a total population of about 411,400. The average declared annual income in the region is approximately 19,400 euros, which is notably lower than the national average of roughly 25,800 euros. Based on an estimated inflation rate of 4.2%, a family with an annual expenditure of 37,500 euros could face an additional burden of about 1,575 euros per year, or over 130 euros per month.
Gaspare Ingargiola, provincial president of CIFA Trapani, stated that simply advising families to spend less is insufficient. He emphasized the importance of citizens knowing their rights and accessing available support, such as social bonuses for utilities, the ‘Dedicata a te’ card for food purchases, the universal single allowance for children, and local municipal contributions for rent and waste taxes.
