Écija citizens protest for Genil River protection

Citizens in Écija have organized a demonstration for October 1 at the Plaza de España to demand the protection and recovery of the Genil River. The movement is led by the Amigos del Genil platform and supported by the Club Piragüismo Écija.

Protesters are seeking guarantees for flood prevention measures and accountability from the municipal government regarding the loss of funding for the FlubioGenil European project. Organizers emphasized that the mobilization is a non-partisan effort focused on environmental recovery and public safety, noting that the river is a vital natural asset for the community.
