Écija City Council admits lack of asset inventories

The Écija City Council has officially admitted in writing that it lacks both a movable property inventory and a historical-artistic asset inventory. This admission follows a formal requirement from the Transparency and Data Protection Council of Andalusia, responding to claims made by the Asociación Amigos de Écija.

The association had been requesting access to this information for over a year. According to municipal decree number 2026-3373, issued on August 12, 2026, the council confirmed it does not possess the mandatory inventories for movable or historical-artistic goods. The only available documentation provided was an inventory of real estate, which was published on the municipal Transparency Portal only after it was noted that the information was previously inaccessible to citizens.

The resolution also highlights a lack of control over local cultural heritage, noting that works by Cesáreo Cambronero López are not registered in any municipal, museum, or regional inventory.
