CIJW School conducts intensive training for Mizoram NCC cadets
The Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS) in Vairengte conducted an intensive two-week training programme for 83 National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from Mizoram. Running from September 21 to October 4, the initiative aimed to expose young cadets to the discipline, physical standards, and field skills characteristic of military life.
During the programme, cadets participated in various activities including drill, physical training, firing, map reading, fieldcraft, survival training, and first aid. They also received introductions to jungle warfare, weapons, equipment, and night-vision devices. To address the evolving nature of modern combat, cadets visited the Information and Research Centre, IED Hall, and Technovation Hall to learn about technological innovations in military training.
The training was designed to foster leadership, confidence, and a spirit of service. By training in mixed groups, the cadets from different parts of Mizoram were encouraged to build camaraderie and a sense of collective identity, supporting broader goals of national integration and service.
