Poland implements widespread transport and infrastructure upgrades

Poland is undergoing extensive infrastructure modernization across various sectors, including road, rail, and urban transport.

In road development, significant projects include the reconstruction of the DK45 in Ciężkowice, a new road connection in southern Gdańsk expected to be completed by 2028, and planned upgrades to intersections in Racibor. Additionally, the S19 expressway is seeing the construction of a massive estacade between Babica and Jawornik, which will feature pillars reaching 80 meters in height.

Urban transport is also seeing major investments. Warsaw is implementing green tram tracks to reduce noise and heat, while Wrocław is consulting residents on the purchase of 160 new trams. In Rzeszów, new street lighting projects are underway, and in Wrocław, Szczytnicka Street is slated for a redesign to include bike lanes and more greenery. Połczyn-Zdrój has also signed a contract for a new transport hub, and Katowice is preparing for a major viaduct reconstruction in Zawodzie.

Rail and highway connectivity are being enhanced through the planned opening of a border section of the Czech D11 motorway on November 27, 2026, which will link with the Polish S3 expressway.
