Cilento National Park and Assisi sign Friendship Pact
A delegation from the Cilento, Vallo di Diano, and Alburni National Park visited Assisi from October 9 to 11 to promote a Friendship Pact aimed at uniting the two territories. The initiative focuses on shared development projects, sustainable tourism, and the protection of natural, historical, and spiritual heritage.
During the institutional visit, park leaders Giuseppe Coccorullo and Carmelo Stanziola met with Umbria Region President Stefania Proietti and the Mayor of Assisi, Valter Stoppini, to discuss territorial promotion and sustainability. They also met with Mons. Felice Accrocca, Bishop of the Diocese of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino, to discuss Franciscan values and the development of internal areas.
The visit included religious observances dedicated to Saint Carlo Acutis, the “saint of youth,” who spent summers in the municipality of Centola. A Eucharistic celebration was held at the Sanctuary of the Spogliazione, presided over by Mons. Vincenzo Calvosa, Bishop of the Diocese of Vallo della Lucania.
