Cima Moneke reports racism during EuroLeague derby

Red Star basketball player Cima Moneke has reported experiencing a racist incident during a EuroLeague derby match against Partizan. Speaking in a podcast, Moneke described a specific individual who targeted him with monkey noises toward the beginning of the fourth quarter, calling the experience “shocking and very sad.”

Moneke also noted that the match was physically difficult due to an ankle injury sustained just before tip-off when he accidentally stepped on a photographer's foot. He mentioned that the atmosphere during the game was intense, noting that he had also narrowly avoided being hit by objects thrown into the arena.
