Law enforcement agencies conduct major narcotics seizures in Indonesia and Malaysia

Law enforcement agencies across Indonesia and Malaysia have reported significant successes in narcotics interdiction. In Indonesia, a major joint operation involving Bareskrim Polri, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), and Customs intercepted approximately 800 kilograms of ketamine hydrochloride hidden on the foreign-flagged vessel MV Fuchangxing 1 in the Anambas waters. This operation followed the discovery of a larger 1.3-ton ketamine smuggling attempt involving the MV King Sun.

Regional police departments in Indonesia have also reported extensive drug busts. The Cimahi Police uncovered 80 cases involving 91 suspects, seizing various substances including synthetic tobacco and psychotropic drugs. In Rokan Hilir, 48 cases were resolved with 66 suspects apprehended, while the Indragiri Hilir Police destroyed evidence from five cases involving methamphetamine and ecstasy. Additionally, the Ogan Ilir Police reported 12 cases and 13 suspects, and the Pelabuhan Belawan Police destroyed evidence from 82 narcotics cases.

In Malaysia, the Sabah Narcotics Crime Investigation Department announced plans to dispose of over RM120 million worth of seized drugs, including hundreds of kilograms of methamphetamine and mitragynine, as part of completed investigations.
