Cimed CEO eyes major Brazilian football sponsorships

João Adibe Marques, CEO of the pharmaceutical giant Cimed, has expressed strong interest in expanding the company's presence in Brazilian football. This move comes as a potential response to recent government measures restricting the operation and advertising of fixed-odds betting companies in Brazil, which has left many clubs seeking new sponsorship alternatives.

Marques stated that the company's brand, Super, has the “dream of sponsoring all clubs in Brazil” and indicated that there are no limits to their sponsorship ambitions. Cimed already maintains partnerships with clubs such as Palmeiras, Cruzeiro, and Botafogo-PB, as well as the Brazilian national teams.

Specific negotiations are reportedly being explored with São Paulo FC. While no official contract or formal proposal has been signed, Cimed is being considered for several roles, including the naming rights for the Morumbi stadium following the conclusion of the current Mondelez agreement in 2026. Other possibilities include jersey sponsorships or commercial actions to fill the void left by betting companies.
