Cimin grape harvest approaches in Erzincan's Üzümlü district

Preparations are underway for the upcoming harvest of Cimin grapes in the Üzümlü district of Erzincan. This black-seeded table grape holds a geographical indication and is grown in vineyards with a history spanning approximately 200 years.

Characterized by its thin skin, unique aroma, tart flavor, and low sugar content, the product is a vital component of the regional economy. Production occurs across roughly 10,000 decares of land, yielding an annual average of 6,000 tons. In addition to domestic consumption, there is significant demand from markets in Europe and the Middle East.

The traditional viticulture culture in Üzümlü is passed down through generations, utilizing the region's specific climate and soil conditions. As the harvest season approaches, local producers are increasing activity in the vineyards to ensure a productive season.
