Cimon della Pala climber rescued after seven-hour operation

A young climber was rescued from a rock face on Cimon della Pala following a seven-hour operation complicated by heavy fog. The rescue, which began after an emergency call around 3:00 PM, involved the Soccorso Alpino e Speleologico Trentino.

After initial attempts to guide the climber via telephone proved unsuccessful, rescuers were deployed. An helicopter transported teams to Cima Vezzana around 5:30 PM, allowing them to reach the climber by 7:30 PM. The operation concluded at 10:00 PM. While the climber sustained injuries, one rescuer also suffered an injury to a lower limb and was transported to the hospital in Cavalese.
