Cincinnati expands creative economy through art festivals
Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky are strengthening their status as major art hubs through initiatives like Cincinnati Art Week and the BLINK festival. Cincinnati Art Week serves as a connective platform designed to facilitate movement within the local creative economy by linking artists, neighborhoods, and audiences.
BLINK, recognized as the nation’s largest free public art event, continues to drive significant economic impact. The 2024 edition attracted over 2 million attendees and generated an estimated $205 million for the region. Future iterations of the festival will emphasize technology-driven works, digital media, and a record number of female artists. The festival is also introducing a new kickoff event, ‘Ready. Set. BLINK!’, at TQL Stadium to celebrate the expansion of art installations across more than 30 downtown blocks.
