Cincinnati Reds ownership retains current front office for 2027

The Cincinnati Reds ownership group has officially endorsed the current front office to remain in place for the 2027 season. During a recent press conference, Phil Castellini confirmed that baseball decision-makers, including Nick Krall and Brad Meador, will not be replaced despite the team’s recent decline in the standings following an unsustainable win streak in March 2026.

As part of these organizational shifts, Derek Johnson will officially depart from his role as head of pitching, a position he has held since 2019. The front office is now tasked with restructuring the pitching staff, which faced significant challenges due to injuries to key players like Hunter Greene.

Following a disappointing season that saw the team miss the postseason, analysts suggest the roster requires drastic changes to remain competitive. Potential offseason priorities include addressing the starting rotation through free agency or trades, as the team looks to rebuild stability after recent struggles with third base investments and pitching depth.
