Cincinnati Reds to retain Terry Francona and front office

The Cincinnati Reds have announced that they will retain their current front office and manager Terry Francona for the 2027 season. This decision follows a disappointing 2026 campaign that left the team with a 70-79 record and in last place in the National League Central.

Manager Terry Francona expressed his commitment to being part of the solution, stating that his relationship with the front office has strengthened despite the team’s struggles. He noted that he values the alignment he has with President of Baseball Operations Nick Krall and General Manager Brad Meador.

The announcement has drawn significant criticism from the fanbase. Many supporters expressed frustration over the decision to maintain the status quo, citing the organization’s recent lack of success and poor win-loss record under the current leadership.
