Cindy Blackman Santana Releases Jazz Fusion Album 'Coherence

Jazz drummer and composer Cindy Blackman Santana has issued her seventh solo studio album, *Coherence*. The 17‑track record blends contemporary jazz fusion with rock and funk elements and features guest appearances by her husband, guitarist Carlos Santana, as well as virtuosos John McLaughlin, Matt Garrison, Ray Angry and Dave Eggar. Recorded at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, the album opens with the warm hook of “Illumination” and includes tracks such as “Blue Whale,” “The Message Is Love” (with Santana), and “Capri.” Blackman Santana describes the project as a celebration of unity and creation, saying it “is about everything in creation coming together.” The release is accompanied by a series of live dates, including performances at the Detroit Jazz Festival and shows in Baltimore, as well as an Oneness Tour with Santana and the Doobie Brothers.
