Cine Ceará announces films for 36th Ibero-American Film Festival

The 36th Cine Ceará – Ibero-American Film Festival has announced its selection for the upcoming event, scheduled to take place from November 7 to 13. The festival features two main competitions: the Ibero-American Feature Film Competition and the Brazilian Short Film Competition.

The Ibero-American feature film category includes six titles: two from Brazil, one from Peru, one from the Dominican Republic and Spain, one from Spain and Belgium, and one co-production between Ecuador, Chile, and Germany. Themes across these films include memory, identity, family relations, and the struggles of indigenous peoples against political and urban pressures.

The Brazilian short film competition includes 13 works representing various states, including Ceará, Bahia, Paraíba, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Minas Gerais, and São Paulo. The festival will host screenings at the Cineteatro São Luiz with free admission, and selected works will compete for the Troféu Mucuripe.
