Cine. Ema Festival brings orchestra and cinema to Atlantic Forest

The 12th edition of the Cine. Ema Festival will feature a special program titled ‘Orquestra na Floresta’ on September 19 at the Águia Branca Environmental Reserve in Vargem Alta, Espírito Santo. The event combines classical music, cinema, and nature within the Atlantic Forest.

The Espírito Santo State Symphony Orchestra (OSES), conducted by maestro Helder Trefzger, will perform a repertoire celebrating Brazilian cultural diversity. The program includes symphonic versions of traditional genres such as frevo, maracatu, baião, and a symphonic version of ‘Madalena’, a traditional congo song from Espírito Santo.

Following the concert, the festival will host its first in-person film screening of the edition. This event also marks the launch of the Cine. Ema online showcase, which will offer free film screenings via the festival's website until October 19. Admission to the in-person event is free, though capacity is limited.
