Cine Teatro Cuiabá hosts art exhibition by incarcerated individuals

The Cine Teatro Cuiabá is hosting an art exhibition featuring works produced by adolescents from the Female Socio-educational Service Center of Cuiabá (Case) and individuals incarcerated at the Nortelândia Public Jail.

The exhibition is part of the Canvas Painting Project by the Nova Chance Foundation (Funac), which is linked to the State Secretariat of Justice (Sejus). The showcase is open to the public until October 30 during the cultural center's operating hours, offering visitors the opportunity to view and purchase the artworks.

According to Winkler de Freitas Teles, president of the Nova Chance Foundation, the project aims to promote self-knowledge, social reintegration, and the reduction of social vulnerability. The initiative seeks to highlight the creative potential of participants and increase visibility for the socio-educational and rehabilitative actions within the Mato Grosso penitentiary system.
