Cine Tutu opens new street cinema in São Paulo

Cine Tutu, a new street cinema, has opened in the Vila Madalena neighborhood of São Paulo. Located in the basement of a building on Rua Girassol, the space features a single 114-seat auditorium designed by architect Isay Weinfeld.

The cinema offers high-end technical specifications, including 4K laser projection, a Dolby 7.1 sound system, and an 8.9-meter screen. The interior design is characterized by green velvet curtains and floral-patterned armchairs produced in partnership with Entreposto. The project was conceptualized by entrepreneur Paulo Velasco, who also established the integrated café-bar, Barouche.

Aimed at providing an alternative to shopping mall movie theaters, Cine Tutu's programming will include Brazilian and international films, art cinema, special exhibitions, and themed sessions. During its first month of operation, the venue will participate in the 50th São Paulo International Film Festival.
