Cinehill Film Festival Awards Honor Bosnian Actor Zijah Sokolović and Mexican Director Fernando Eimbcke

The Cinehill International Film Festival took place in Fužine, Croatia. The ceremony presented the “50 years” lifetime award to Bosnian‑Herzegovinian actor Zijah Sokolović, who said the honor gave “a new dimension to the meaning of life” and celebrated his contributions to film and theatre.

The festival’s main competition prize was awarded to Mexican filmmaker Fernando Eimbcke for his film Moscas (Muhe), applauded for its blend of simplicity, boldness and deep humanity. The jury included Palestinian producer Baher Agbarija, Serbian producer Snežana van Houwelingen, Serbian director Marija Perović, and Croatian director Igor Šeregi. Additional honors went to Croatian director Ane Predan (Crocorto award), Swiss director Camille Surdezza (short‑film award) and Chilean director Manuele Martelli (critics’ award).
