Cinema da Boca hosts free queer-themed film screenings in Campo Grande

The eighth edition of Cinema da Boca is hosting a series of free film screenings in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. The event, organized by A Boca Filmes and curated by Felipe Feitosa, features the showcase “Estranho, Excêntrico, Excepcional…”, which focuses on musical films with queer themes and LGBTQIAPN+ representation.

Scheduled screenings include the Brazilian romantic comedy and musical “O Melhor Amigo” by Allan Deberton at the Teatro do Mundo, followed by a public debate. The program also features the science fiction musical “Neptune Frost,” directed by Anisia Uzeyman and Saul Williams, and concludes with the exhibition of “Scorpio Rising” by Kenneth Anger at Capivas Cervejaria.

Supported by the Municipal Fund for Cultural Investments (FMIC) and the Municipal Culture Foundation (Fundac), the initiative aims to bring films that often bypass commercial circuits to the local public through screenings and reflective discussions.
