Cinema events scheduled in Quebec and France

The Pôle d’économie sociale de la Montérégie Est (PECEM) is hosting a free cine-discussion event at CinéMaska on October 21. The evening will feature the documentary ‘Subir ou choisir : l’économie en transition’, presented by journalist Diane Bérard and producer Lucie Veillet, which examines emerging economic solutions and the limits of current models. Additionally, the documentary ‘(R)évolution : le travail est humain’, produced by Réseau COOP, will be screened to highlight worker cooperatives and democratic organizational models.

In France, the Ciné-club Capitole, established by students from the University of Capitole, is organizing a film debate at the ‘Art & Essai’ cinema Le Cratère. The event features a screening of Robert Eggers’ 2019 film ‘The Lighthouse’, starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe, focusing on themes of paranoia and social relations through a black-and-white aesthetic.
