Cinema initiatives announced in Mondim de Basto and Condeixa-a-Nova

The fourth edition of the Trás-os-Filmes festival, focusing on contemporary cinema in Trás-os-Montes, is scheduled for February 5 and 6, 2027, in Mondim de Basto. Organized by Filmes aos Montes, in partnership with Favo das Artes and the Mondim de Basto Municipality, the event includes an open call for short films and micro-shorts available until December 6, 2026. Selected works will compete in the Berço d’Ouro and Favo d’Ouro categories. An additional open call for experimental cinema projects has also been launched in collaboration with Vínculum.

In Condeixa-a-Nova, the CC!C (Clube de Cinema e Imagem de Condeixa) has been established to provide regular film programming to the municipality. Operating under the Associação Recreativa e Cultural de Bom Velho de Cima, the club aims to foster cultural participation through film screenings, thematic cycles, and debates. The inaugural session, held at the PO.RO.S Museum auditorium, features the film “A Memória do Cheiro das Coisas” by António Ferreira, accompanied by a discussion with director and actor José Martins.
