Cinema premieres feature French thriller ‘Dossier 137’

A new wave of ten film premieres is arriving in cinemas, marking the start of the autumn season. The lineup includes various genres such as the French police thriller ‘Dossier 137’ directed by Dominique Mol, the American thriller ‘At All Costs’ by Elgan Braton, the Greek comedy ‘Kokoras’ by Tasos Gerakinis, the South Korean horror film ‘Hope’ by Hong-jin Na, the American fantasy comedy sequel ‘Magic Filters 2’ by Susan Pierce, and the Argentine documentary ‘The Match’ regarding the 1982 World Cup game between Argentina and England.

Among the new releases, ‘Dossier 137’ stands out. The film, which has won six César Awards and was featured in the official selection at the Cannes Film Festival, explores the dramatic events of 2018 and the ‘Yellow Vests’ protests in Paris. While the story is a work of fiction, it is based on extensive research into the French Internal Affairs Service. The plot depicts a police force that transforms into a tool of blind suppression and violence under the orders of panicked politicians in response to mass civil demonstrations.
