Cinema releases feature Oscar contender and sci-fi blockbuster

The upcoming film season features a diverse lineup of domestic and international releases. A major highlight is the Czech film ‘Kdyby se holubi proměnili ve zlato’ (If Pigeons Turned to Gold), directed by Pepa Lubojacki. The Berlinale winner has been selected as the Czech entry for the Oscars.

In international cinema, South Korean director Na Hong-jin returns with ‘Hope’, a high-budget sci-fi blockbuster set near the demilitarized zone. The film, which received significant acclaim at Cannes, follows a police chief investigating unexplained deaths involving an unknown entity.

Looking toward the end of 2026, the industry anticipates major tentpole releases, including ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and the conclusion of the ‘Dune’ trilogy. Other notable upcoming titles include ‘Clayface’, ‘Paper Tiger’ starring Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson, and ‘Jumanji: The Great Escape’.
