Cinema updates: Verity receives poor reviews ahead of October releases

The film Verity, starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson, has received poor critical reception following its international release. Based on a bestselling novel, the thriller follows a writer who discovers dark family secrets in a hidden diary. Critics on Rotten Tomatoes have given the film a 47% rating, with reviewers describing it as a chaotic, flat, and nonsensical production that fails to deliver the intended tension.

Looking ahead to October 2026, several new titles are scheduled for release. Slovakian premieres include the dance drama Tango pre 3, starring Ján Koleník, and the mystery film Hope, which follows police officers investigating mysterious creatures in a remote town.
