Cinemadamare festival turns Rocca Imperiale into open‑air film set

The itinerant international festival Cinemadamare staged a two‑day programme in the southern Italian town of Rocca Imperiale. On 24 July the historic centre hosted a screening of Fabio Segatori’s short film “Don Chisciotte”, followed by a community‑wide celebration. The event culminated on 25 July along the Lungomare Kennedy, where the festival’s Weekly Competition awarded short films created by young filmmakers who had gathered in the town over the week.

Cinemadamare, billed as the longest audiovisual campus in the world, collaborates with 57 universities and film schools across all continents. The Rocca Imperiale stop formed part of a three‑month tour covering eight Italian regions and two European locations, linking local landscapes and stories with the participating creators.
