Cinemark and CJ 4DPLEX to expand SCREENX locations

SCREENX cinema expansion immersive theater premium cinema formats theatrical exhibition

CJ 4DPLEX and Cinemark have announced an agreement to expand the presence of SCREENX, an immersive panoramic cinema format, by adding 20 new auditoriums across Cinemark’s global circuit. The expansion includes 17 locations in the United States and three in Latin America.

Six of the new U.S. auditoriums are scheduled to open in 2026, which will increase Cinemark’s domestic SCREENX footprint to 30 locations. This rollout is timed to coincide with the release of Avengers: Doomsday. CJ 4DPLEX also plans to release at least four films specifically shot for the SCREENX format with major Hollywood studios in 2027.
