Cinephobia Releasing acquires rights to horror sequel Brute 1986

Cinephobia Releasing has acquired the North American and UK rights to Brute 1986, the sequel to the horror film Brute 1976. Directed by Marcel Walz and written by Joe Knetter, the film is scheduled to have its world premiere at Tubi FrightFest Halloween on October 31.

Shifting from the 1970s homage of its predecessor, the sequel adopts an 1980s slasher aesthetic featuring heavy metal influences and practical gore. The plot follows the glam metal band Leather Kobra as they film a music video in an abandoned Western town, only to encounter the violent Birdy family.

The cast includes Bill Kaulitz of Tokio Hotel, alongside returning actors Dazelle Yvette, Sarah French, and Gigi Gustin, as well as horror veteran Lew Temple. The film will feature original music by CRAZY LIXX and Bill Kaulitz.
