Cinfães Municipal Library opens new free coworking space

The Municipal Library of Cinfães has inaugurated a new free coworking space designed to support students, freelancers, and remote workers, including digital nomads. This initiative is part of a broader restructuring plan funded by the NORTE 2030 operational program, aimed at modernizing the facility and encouraging local entrepreneurship to prevent youth emigration from the municipality.

The renovation includes a complete remodeling of the children and youth sector, featuring the new ‘Tree Reading Room’ designed to foster reading habits through an engaging environment. The updated infrastructure also features modern furniture, such as sofas with chargers and dedicated work tables, alongside enhanced technological solutions to improve access to information and digital skill development.

The official opening ceremony included representatives from the Directorate-General for Books, Archives, and Libraries (DGLAB), which commended the municipality for investing in the community and the facility's professional staff.
