Ciniru landfill fire spreads across five hectares in Kuningan

A massive fire at the Ciniru landfill (TPAS) in Jalaksana District, Kuningan Regency, West Java, has entered its third day and continues to spread. The blaze, which began early Wednesday morning, has consumed approximately five hectares of land.

Emergency response efforts involve approximately 200 personnel from various agencies, including the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and fire departments. Responders are facing significant challenges due to thick smoke, steep terrain, and strong winds, which have exacerbated the spread of the flames during the dry season.

Authorities are utilizing thermal drones to map hotspots and assist in directing firefighting teams. Efforts to contain the fire are ongoing to prevent it from spreading to adjacent areas.
