Cinisi to host guided tour of Benedictine art treasures

As part of the ‘Le Notti di BCsicilia’ event, a guided tour will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Church of Santa Fara in Cinisi. The tour aims to showcase the precious Benedictine artistic heritage, including sculptures and paintings.

The itinerary explores works originally linked to the ancient Palace of the Benedictine Fathers, its chapel dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria, and the Church of Santa Fara. The collection features prominent figures of Sicilian Baroque and Neoclassicism, such as Filippo Quattrocchi and Zoppo di Gangi, alongside Neapolitan school works.

Notable highlights include a refined high altar frontal featuring coral craftsmanship and the 20th-century Santa Fara chapel, which contains bronze works by Mario Rutelli.
