CINTA controversy: Allegations of misconduct against senior artists
Internal conflicts within the Cine and Television Artists Association (CINTA) have escalated following allegations of misconduct and disrespect toward senior artists. Former CINTA official Upasana Singh has raised serious concerns regarding the treatment of veteran actors during association meetings.
Singh reported that actor Mukesh Rishi was prevented from voting due to a thirty-minute delay caused by Mumbai traffic, leading to a public expression of frustration. Additionally, former treasurer Deepak Parashar was allegedly denied entry to a press conference involving Hema Malini, an incident Singh described as deeply humiliating.
Further allegations were directed at actors Poonam Dhillon and Padmini Kolhapure, with Singh claiming they maintained an elitist distance from other members. The controversy also includes claims of verbal disparagement toward staff members based on language proficiency. Meanwhile, newly elected executive committee member Nagma has expressed dissatisfaction regarding the organization’s leadership and operational conduct.
