Cinta Laura discusses youth preparedness and social media impact

Cinta Laura Kiehl has highlighted the necessity for the younger generation to prepare for the future through education, healthy living, personal development, and financial planning. Speaking at the launch of a DBS Foundation research report titled ‘Indonesia Menuju Populasi Menua: Seberapa Siapkah Kita?’, she addressed Indonesia’s demographic shift. The research indicates that the elderly population in Indonesia is expected to reach 12 percent by 2025 and exceed 20 percent by 2045.

Through the Cinta Laura Foundation, she aims to support students in developing essential skills such as leadership, communication, financial literacy, and career readiness to foster independence.

Additionally, Laura addressed the psychological challenges faced by the ‘anxious generation’ due to digital technology. She warned against the dangers of seeking instant gratification and the negative impact of excessive social media use on productivity and emotional stability. To mitigate these effects, she recommends establishing routines, such as avoiding mobile devices for the first hour after waking up, to maintain emotional balance and self-worth.
