CIPESA calls for member votes in upcoming leadership elections

The Círculo de Periodistas de la Salud (CIPESA) has called for its members to vote in upcoming elections scheduled for Saturday, October 24. The voting will take place at the Colegio Dominicano de Periodistas (CDP) from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to select the leadership for the 2026–2028 term.

CIPESA President Dr. Carol G. Martínez Medina urged members to participate with responsibility and respect, emphasizing the importance of institutional unity regardless of the results. She noted that the organization is currently in its 30th anniversary year and highlighted the need to integrate different generations of journalists.

In support of the electoral process, the National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) District National branch has announced its endorsement of journalist Ada Guzmán for the presidency of CIPESA. SNTP General Secretary Mario Antonio Lara Valdez cited Guzmán’s professional trajectory and commitment to the guild as reasons for the support. The SNTP also noted the participation of Janet Báez, the current Secretary of Organization for the SNTP District National, as a candidate for the CIPESA Secretary of Public Relations within the ‘CIPESA Somos Todos’ slate.
