Cipolletti autopsy supports suicide pact hypothesis for Jorge Horacio Ortiz

Forensic investigators in Cipolletti reported that the preliminary autopsy of 75‑year‑old Jorge Horacio Ortiz found no traumatic injuries, reinforcing the hypothesis that he died by voluntarily ingesting a mixture of clonazepam and alcohol. The couple's apartment at San Martín 77 contained empty clonazepam blister packs, alcoholic beverages and a handwritten note indicating a joint decision to end their lives amid severe economic hardship. Ortiz’s wife survived, was found nearly two days later with minor cut injuries, and remains hospitalized in the mental health unit of the local hospital. Toxicology results are pending to confirm the exact concentrations of the substances in Ortiz’s system.
